2016-2017

The ESA executive committee is elected into office each and every year by the students for a renewable term of one year.
Wreford Momanyi
Chairman

Wreford is a 5th year Electrical and Electronic Engineering student with passion in industrial automation and power system. He has previously served the Engineering Students Association (E.S.A) as the Academic Affairs secretary (2014/2015) and Managing Editor of the Student Engineer Journal (2015/2016).
He has a background in Accounting, computer networking and has also been an electrical intern at Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KENGEN) - Olkaria Geothermal Project and Oserian Geothermal power plants in Naivasha.
He is social, open-minded and enthusiastic about making E.S.A more vibrant through student involvement and seeking more university-industry linkages.

Philip Adero
Editor in Chief

A final year student from the department of Environmental & Bio systems engineering. He served in the previous board as an editor of The Student Engineer. He brings to the board his ability to source for funds as well as his writing skills on matters science technology. His interest lie in remote sensing, Agricultural machinery and Irrigation engineering.

Caesar Joseph Sila Amunga
Secretary General

Caesar is a fifth year electrical engineering student. He is a brilliant young man who likes the way things fit into each other. In whatever he does, his guiding star is always truth. He is modest and believes that a man should always seek to improve himself each day.

To him, there is no absolute reality. Reality is subjective and many things that are believed to be truths are simply perspectives that give power to those who believe in them.
Generally he likes writing essays and reading.
He likes athletics and runs for Riadha kenya steeple chase 3000 metres.
In conclusion, he is friendly and easy going and someone who faces challenges boldly and finds solutions.

Caesar Joseph Sila Amunga

Odede Ezekiel Maxwel Oduor
Social Affairs Secretery

Mr. Odede is a 5th year civil engineering student, having served in ESA for two terms both as vice academic affairs sec and social affairs sec. He now serves the third time again as the social affairs sec having steered the 2015/2016 ESA tournament and open day successfully to completion He is a member of the institute of civil engineers ICE -No 82551462
A member of the Architectural Association of Kenya AAK No 3769
With the experience he has we hope to put ESA 2016/2017 in the best place possible both nationally and on international ranks

Janet Agayo
Vice-Academic Secretary

Janet Agayo is an environmental and Biosystems Engineering Student at the University of Nairobi. She is Passionate about life and likes inspiring others, proactive, fluent in English and self-driven.

Louisa Akinyi Otieno
Finance Secretary

Louisa is a 5th year Geospatial Engineering student who prior to joining the ESA executive, served as the Geospatial Engineering Students Association (GESA) vice chairperson and later the chairperson.
We hope that Louisa will bring the expertise gained from her previous experience to make ESA 2016/2017 successful.

Stanesrus Bosire
Publicity Secretary

Stanesrus Bosire is third year student pursuing a degree in BSc. Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nairobi.
He likes reading, watching news, dancing, debating and socializing.

Nelly Omina
Academic Affairs Sec.

Nelly is a fourth year Electrical Engineering student. She is a brilliant young lady who believes that one should always be in charge of his/her life.

Aside from engineering she has done accounting at Strathmore University. She has been a Unilever brand ambassador from 2015 up to date. She is a member of the Young African Leader’s Initiative network and hopes that this in future will help her be able to positively impact people’s lives in the society. She is part of a non-profit organization called REACH-OUT-TO-ALL (R.O.T.A) whose aim is to help alleviate poverty by sharing and giving hope to the needy.

She is part of the executive committee of Robogals, Nairobi chapter. Robogals is an international, student-run organization whose aim is to inspire and empower young women into engineering by engaging young girls in these topics from a young age with fun activities.

Her hobbies include playing volleyball, reading novels and writing essays. She is friendly and easy going.

Prior to joining ESA executive committee, she was constantly involved in ESA activities. She hopes to make an impact in ESA by organizing industrial visits, talks and helping students get attachments and internships.
